TO BLOG OR NOT TO BLOG...

I am going to start ACTUALLY blogging. 

I have been so bad about doing this.. it's just one of those things that every day I get up and say..
TODAY'S THE DAY!!!
I will start writing on my blog today and at least once a week. 
then that week rolls on by and I start this argument in my head titled.. TO BLOG OR NOT TO BLOG THAT IS THE QUESTION!!!

So I was starting to think that blogging is becoming a thing of the past. 
Then I researched it a little and BOY WAS I WRONG...
Blogging is still a great resource that I have been totally screwing up.
So with this new info in mind.. I am NOW putting this on my calendar for a once a week event.

You know what frustrates me about myself and having my own business?  Is that I am so unorganized for myself.  What I mean by that is when I was working for someone else in whatever job capacity it was.. I was completely organized. I could run circles around anyone.  I could do so many things and do them all soooo well.  Then I started working for myself and it's like all my brain function in that area flew out the window.  WHY???  This is the time I need to be 110% running circles around myself.  There is no reason to not get this in gear.  I mean come on.. it's been long enough. 

So since this is my birthday month, and none of us are getting any younger,  I am making a new commitment to MYSELF. 
I am letting go of the old habits and ways of doing things and really going after what I want no matter what that is in my life.
I will be posting more.
I will purge purge purge.
I will take time for myself.
I will become the best version of myself. in business and personal.
I will be the person I have always meant to be.

So stay tuned folks.. for the best me YET!!!!

NO COUCH POTATO HERE.. {tampa photographer}

So one of my most recent new clients needed some new shots done to use on her website and marketing.

Mare is awesome and so funny and inspiring.  So you must check her site out and if you need a nice 'kick' in the butt to start that fitness routine or eat better or even just make small changes.. she's your girl.
But let me tell you a little about our shoot. 
She came to the studio and boy was I surprised when she pulled Mr. Potato Head out of her bag. 
After a second it dawned on me.. 'dont be a couch potato'   it was great and just the kind of thing I love to implement in photo shoots.  So she gave me her idea and we did it.. but right at the end I decided to give Mr Potato Head one last chance to make an appearance. (see photo) He did a great job.. okay Mare did too.. :)
We had a really good time and she loved the end results.  Her husband requested this very photo for his office.  LOVE THAT!!! thanks Mare (and the potato) for making my job soo much fun.. I truly have the best job!!!

AND AS MARE SAID... she's HIP to the needs of couch potatoes. So give her a call!! FUN

TRYING TO GET BACK INTO THE SWING OF THINGS..

..Hey Everyone.. had a crazy holiday season with LOTS of photo shoots.
but I made it through and am almost back to my normal schedule. 
I want to thank everyone for allowing me to take their great photos.. slideshow coming soon..

But I want to post this photo..
I have been taking Courtney's progression photos for awhile and I also had the unique honor of capturing the birth of the baby.
So today the whole family came in and we did a few photos but the one I wanted to do the most was the last progression photo..
So here it is - I am so proud of how it turned out.

SNEAK PEEK - JAXIE WITH MOM & DAD IN THE STUDIO {tampa pet photographer}

Hey everyone.. since Jaxie's Mom & Dad aren't on FB I decided to put their Sneak Peek on my blog so that they can enjoy it.
I know it's been a while since I posted on my blog (bad me) but I am going to try to do it with each FB entry. 
So anyway.. back to Jaxie.. she's a little Jack  Russell  and full of energy.  But she did soooo good.
We did some Christmas photos of her.  She was very patient with all of our crazy doings..
There were so many to choose from but this one just really appealed to me.  I think it's the look on her face.  How cute.

So I was checking out my lighting as I seemed to be having an issue with one of my lights.. soooooo..
my trusty assistant/model came in to help me check things out. 
I have no idea how much she's going to charge... she's pretty expensive!  :)

LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! September 10th

Hey Everyone... Recently numerous people have asked if I would ever consider doing a workshop. So GUESS WHAT?  I am going to do a workshop. If I get a great response and the people want more I will add additonal subjects for future workshops.  This particular workshop will focus on LOCATIONS! .  What to look for... how to utilize that area and how to make it work for all different types of photography. 
So years ago when I started in photograpy it was hit and miss on what I knew and how to appoach it.  So I knew that I needed a more well rounded education - so I went to school.  I took as many classes as I could and still to this day I go to seminars and workshops such as the one I am going to provide.  
Once I had more knowledge and only then, did I start the 'business' of photography.  I joined photography organizations such as TAPPA and PPA.  I started using labs that only work with photographers and those things have helped me and still help me be a better photographer.
I don't know it all and I am learning everyday - but I know what works for me right now.  It changes constantly but the basics remain the same and without those.. it just doesn't work.
So - if you are comfortable with your camera and know how to work it and use it and you just want a little help on the area of location shooting, then please contact me and sign up. This will be limited to 10 people.  We will be meeting at a location (to be determined later)  There will be walking so... be prepared. 
September 10th - 8 am. 
The cost is $25.00 per person.
